FEBRUARY 2022 SWEEP
For the first time in decades, “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” ranked No. 1 in Adults 25-54 (702,000) during a February sweep, based on Most Current Data from Nielsen Media Research, leading both CBS’ “Face the Nation” (523,000) and NBC’s “Meet the Press” (604,000) for the 3rd time in the last 4 sweep periods. “This Week” beat both the CBS (+179,000) and NBC (+98,000) programs by its largest sweep margins in over 6 years — since July 2015.
“The Week” posted its largest February sweep margin in Adults 25-54 in 24 years over “Face the Nation” and in 29 years over “Meet the Press” — since February 1998 and February 1993, respectively.
“This Week” (2.981 million) defeated “Meet the Press” (2.821 million) in Total Viewers (+160,000) during a February sweep for the first time in 25 years with its largest lead during the month in 26 years — since February 1997 and February 1996, respectively.
“This Week” saw gains over the previous sweep (November 2021) in Total Viewers (+19% -2.981 million vs. 2.508 million) and Adults 25-54 (+36% – 702,000 vs. 519,000).

“This Week with George Stephanopoulos” ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers (3.388 million) and Adults 25-54 (685,000) on Sunday, Feb. 27, 2022, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research, leading both CBS’ “Face the Nation” and NBC’s “Meet the Press” for the first time in 10 months – since 4/25/21. In addition, “This Week” outperformed “Face the Nation” by its largest Total Viewer margin (+222,000) in 2 years — since 2/9/20. “This Week” also delivered its biggest Adults 25-54 leads over “Face the Nation” (+290,000) in more than 4 years and over “Meet the Press” in more than 6 years – since 1/7/18 and 12/27/15, respectively, based on regular telecasts.
“This Week” improved from the previous week in Total Viewers (+18% – 3.388 million vs. 2.863 million) and Adults 25-54 (+23% – 842,000 vs. 685,000). “This Week” turned in its most-watched telecast in 1 year and best key Adult news demo in 22 months — since 4/12/20.
“This Week” posted double-digit gains year to year in Total Viewers (+12% – 3.388 million vs. 3.018 million) and Adults 25-54 (+51% – 842,000 vs. 559,000).
Season to date, “This Week” is ranking No. 1 in Adults 25-54, leading CBS’ “Face the Nation” and NBC’s “Meet the Press.” In fact, “This Week” is taking the top spot in the key Adult news demo for the first time in 28 years — since the 1993-94 season.
“This Week” is leading NBC’s “Meet the Press” in Total Viewers season to date for the first time in 7 years and by its largest lead in 25 years — since the 2014-2015 and the 1996-1997 seasons, respectively.
George Stephanopoulos is anchor, Martha Raddatz is chief global affairs correspondent and co-anchor, and Jonathan Karl is chief Washington correspondent and co-anchor of “This Week.” Dax Tejera is executive producer of the broadcast.
