Onyx Collective announces the winter 2025 programming slate for the highly anticipated documentary film “SLY LIVES! (aka The Burden of Black Genius)” and the half-hour comedy series “Deli Boys” from 20th Television. Original Documentary “SLY LIVES! (aka The Burden of Black Genius)” premieres Thursday, Feb. 13, on Hulu. Onyx Collective Signs Multiyear First-Look Deal With ‘The House of Flowers’ Creator Manolo Caro and Woo Films

Onyx Collective continues to expand its slate of premium programming for Hulu by announcing a multiyear first-look deal with writer, director and producer Manolo Caro and Woo Films’ co-founders Rafael Ley and Maria Jose Cordova. Onyx Collective and Channel 4 have announced the straight-to-series pickup of the drama “Queenie” from Further South Productions in association with Lionsgate TV. “Queenie” will be available on Channel 4 in the U.K. and the Republic of Ireland and will stream exclusively on Hulu in the U.S., Star+ in Latin America, and Disney+ in all other territories. Onyx Collective continues to expand its slate for Hulu with the series pickup of comedy “Deli Boys” from 20th Television, starring Asif Ali as Mir, Saagar Shaikh as Raj, Alfie Fuller as Prairie, Brian George as Ahmad, and Poorna Jagannathan as Lucky. “Deli Boys” will stream exclusively on Hulu in the U.S., Star+ in Latin America, and Disney+ in all other territories. Onyx Collective Orders Comedy Series ‘How to Die Alone’ From Natasha Rothwell

The eight-episode, half-hour comedy is a Hulu Original and comes from ABC Signature and Onyx Collective. Natasha Rothwell (“The White Lotus,” “Insecure”) to star, write and co-showrun via her overall deal with ABC Signature and Onyx Collective under the banner of her company, Big Hattie Productions. Natasha Rothwell and Vera Santamaria (“PEN15”) serve as co-showrunners and executive producers. Desiree Akhavan (“The Bisexual”) serves as executive producer. “How to Die Alone” follows Melissa (Rothwell), a fat, Black neurotic who’s never been in love. After a comical brush with death, she refuses to settle for anything less than the life she wants, catapulting her on a journey to becoming “100% that bitch” in real life by any means necessary. Onyx Collective Expands Programming Team With Three New Executive Hires

Ashley Holland, Anil Kurian and Janice Park have joined the rapidly expanding Onyx Collective, Disney’s newest content brand designed to curate a slate of premium programming by creators of color and underrepresented voices. Former WME partner Holland is set as senior vice president of Scripted Series, along with seasoned producers Anil Kurian and Janice Park, who will both serve as vice presidents of Scripted Series. All three will report to Tara Duncan, president of Freeform and Onyx Collective. Disney’s Onyx Collective Orders Comedy Series ‘Unprisoned,’ Starring Kerry Washington and Delroy Lindo, From ABC Signature

Onyx Collective announced today that it has picked up “Unprisoned” as its first scripted comedy series. From creator Tracy McMillan. The eight-episode series is produced by ABC Signature and will be streamed exclusively on Hulu in the U.S., Star+ in Latin America and Disney+ in all other territories. Inspired by McMillan’s life, “Unprisoned” is a half-hour comedy about a messy but perfectionist relationship therapist and single mom whose life is turned right-side-up when her dad gets out of prison and moves in with her and her teenage son.
