‘World News Tonight With David Muir’ Is America’s #1 Newscast Across Broadcast and Cable for the Feruary 2022 Sweep Across All Key Demos — Total Viewers, Adults 25–54 and Adults 18–49
‘World News Tonight’ Widens Its Lead Over NBC In All Key Target Demos From Previous Sweep
‘World News Tonight’ Marks 13th Consecutive Sweep Win in Both Total Viewers and
Adults 25-54

ABC News’ “World News Tonight with David Muir” won the February 2022 sweep in Total Viewers (8.873 million), Adults 25-54 (1.653 million) and Adults 18-49 (1.116 million), based on Most Current Data from Nielsen Media Research. “World News Tonight” delivered an across-the-board win for the third February in a row.
In addition, “World News Tonight”’s victory marked the 13th consecutive sweep to lead in both Total Viewers and Adults 25-54 — since February 2019. Further, the ABC program marked its 22nd straight sweep to win in Total Viewers — since November 2016.
“World News Tonight” outperformed “NBC Nightly News” (7.219 million, 1.371 million and 987,000 million, respectively), widening its lead versus the previous sweep in all key target demos by double digits: Total Viewers (+49% – 1.654 million vs. 1.113 million), Adults 25-54 (+32% – 282,000 vs. 214,000) and Adults 18-49 (+15% – 129,000 vs. 112,000).
“World News Tonight” improved on its year-ago sweep performance in Total Viewers (+586,000/+7% – 8.873 million vs. 8.287 million), Adults 25-54 (+11,000/+11% – 1.653 million vs. 1.494 million) and Adults 18-49 (+101,000/+10% – 1.116 million vs. 1.015 million).
“World News” defeated CBS’ “Evening News” (5.319 million, 879,000 and 620,000, respectively) by 3.554 million Total Viewers, 774,000 Adults 25-54 and 496,000 Adults 18-49 during the February 2022 sweep.
ABC “World News Tonight with David Muir” airs 6:30–7:00 p.m. EDT on ABC. Almin Karamehmedovic is the executive producer of the broadcast.
