‘This Week with George Stephanopoulos’ Takes the Top Spot Over Both CBS’ ‘Face the Nation’ and NBC’s ‘Meet the Press’ Among Adults 25-54 for the 5th Time in the Last 7 Weeks

‘This Week’ Leads NBC’s ‘Meet the Press’ in Total Viewers for the Week and Also Season to Date for the First Time in 7 Years and by Its Largest Lead in 25 Years
“This Week with George Stephanopoulos” ranked No. 1 in Adults 25-54 on Sunday, May 1, 2022, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research, taking the top spot over both CBS’ “Face the Nation” and NBC’s “Meet the Press” for the 5th time in the last 7 weeks.
In addition, “This Week” beat “Meet the Press” in Total Viewers.
“This Week” improved on the previous week in Total Viewers (+5% – 2.428 million vs. 2.306 million) and Adults 25-54 (+18% – 549,000 vs. 466,000).
“This Week” increased from the year-ago Sunday in Adults 25-54 (+1% – 549,000 vs. 546,000), standing as the only public affairs program to grow year to year.
Season to date, “This Week” is ranking No. 1 in Adults 25-54, leading CBS’ “Face the Nation” and NBC’s “Meet the Press.” In fact, “This Week” is taking the top spot in the key Adult News demo for the first time in 28 years — since the 1993-94 season.
“This Week” is leading NBC’s “Meet the Press” in Total Viewers season to date for the first time in 7 years and by its largest lead in 25 years — since the 2014-2015 and the 1996-1997 seasons, respectively. In addition, “This Week” is cutting its season margin with “Face the Nation” by 13% (288,000 vs. 330,000) to its smallest gap in 12 years — since the 2009-2010 season.
George Stephanopoulos is anchor, Martha Raddatz is chief global affairs correspondent and co-anchor, and Jonathan Karl is chief Washington correspondent and co-anchor of “This Week.” Dax Tejera is executive producer of the broadcast.
