‘This Week With George Stephanopoulos’ Opens the 2021–2022 Season As the No. 1 Public Affairs Program in Adults 25–54, the 3rd Time in the Last 4 Years To Win Season Premiere Sunday in the Key Adult News Demo

“This Week with George Stephanopoulos” opened the 2021-2022 season as the No. 1 public affairs program in Adults 25-54 (533,000) on Sunday, Sept. 26, 2021, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. “This Week” outdelivered CBS’ “Face the Nation” (473,000) by 60,000 and NBC’s “Meet the Press” (512,000) by 21,000, representing the 3rd time in the last 4 years to win season premiere Sunday in the key Adult news demo.

 

In addition, “This Week” ranked No. 1 in Adults 25-54 for the 6th week in a row, representing its longest run at No. 1 in nearly 6 years—since 9/20-10/25/15.

“This Week” led NBC’s “Meet the Press” in Total Viewers (+210,000 – 2.531 million vs. 2.321 million), beating the NBC program on the first Sunday of the season for the first time in 15 years—since the 2006-2007 season.

“This Week” slashed its Total Viewer margin year to year with CBS’ “Face the Nation” (-59% – 91,000 vs. 224,000).
