ABC News’ ‘This Week with George Stephanopoulos’ Wins the 2nd Quarter 2022 in Adults 25-54, Ranks No. 1 for Third Quarter in a Row and Takes the Top Spot During the 2nd Quarter for Second Straight Year

ABC News’ “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” won the 2nd Quarter 2022 in Adults 25-54 (539,000), based on Most Current Data from Nielsen Media Research. “This Week” ranked No. 1 for third quarter in a row and took the top spot during the 2nd quarter for the second straight year.  In fact, “This Week” earned its first back-to-back 2nd quarter wins in 28 years – since 2Q93 and 2Q94, respectively.

 

This Week” outperformed NBC’s “Meet the Press” in Total Viewers during the 2nd quarter for the first time in 7 years and for the third consecutive quarter – since 2Q15 and 4Q21, respectively.

 

“This Week” narrowed its Total Viewer margin with CBS’ “Face the Nation” both from the previous quarter (-6% – 294,000 vs. 312,000 for 1Q22) and the year-ago quarter (-12% – 294,000 vs. 333,000 for 2Q21).

“This Week with George Stephanopoulos” averaged 2.297 million Total Viewers and 456,000 Adults 25-54 on Sunday, June 26, 2022, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. “This Week” beat CBS’ “Face the Nation” in Adults 25-54.

 

Season to date, “This Week” is ranking No. 1 in Adults 25-54, leading CBS’ “Face the Nation” and NBC’s “Meet the Press” at this point of the season for the first time in 28 years — since the 1993-1994 season.

“This Week” is leading NBC’s “Meet the Press” in Total Viewers season to date for the first time in 7 years — since the 2014-2015 season. In addition, “This Week” is cutting its season margin with “Face the Nation” by 16% (287,000 vs. 342,000) to its smallest gap in 8 years — since the 2013-2014 season.

George Stephanopoulos is anchor; Martha Raddatz is chief global affairs correspondent and co-anchor, and Jonathan Karl is chief Washington correspondent and co-anchor of “This Week.” Dax Tejera is executive producer of the broadcast.
