Carla Pérez

Carla Pérez is a mountain climber and guide from Ecuador. Pérez was first introduced to climbing at the age of four when her father took her to climb Pasochoa, a nearby 14,000-foot volcano, and she has spent her life pushing the limits of what the human body is capable of. She is the first woman from the Americas to summit Mount Everest and K2 without supplemental oxygen. Pérez also holds a bachelor’s degree in geology and a master’s degree in geochemistry. Her expertise in the risks and logistics of mountain climbing, as well as her education in mountain sciences, provide a crucial component to the expedition team.
