Alexia Huffman

Alexia Huffman is a two-time Junior Bull Riding Champion and the Elite Lady Bull Riders’ 2023 Novice Division Year-End Champion. She is a captain in the United States Army and is currently serving as an adjutant general human resource officer in the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Born and raised in Southern California, Alexia started competing in rodeos in 2004 and was the 2004 Year End Mutton Bustin’ Champion for the California Junior Bull Riding Association. As she grew older, she competed in Junior Bull Riding events throughout California, Oklahoma, Texas and Wyoming, competing against boys in the male-dominated sport. Her proudest moment throughout her junior career was when she was the 2011 Pee Wee Bulls Champion for Pacific Coast Junior Bull Riding in Norco, California.

In 2013, at 15 years old, Alexia put away her gear and quit riding bulls at rodeos and practice pens. In 2015, at the age of 17, she enrolled at the University of Wyoming to study agricultural business. Alexia graduated in 2019 with her baccalaureate and was commissioned into the United States Army as a second lieutenant, serving as a field artillery officer on her first tour in the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

At 25 years old, after 10 years of avoiding the sport, Alexia decided to ride a bull at a practice pen in Boaz, Alabama. From that moment on, she promised herself that she would never quit bull riding again — it’s what she was born to do. She has a strong passion for keeping the Western way of life alive in herself and in those around her.

Now, Alexia hopes to use her story to inspire others to pursue their passions and not give up on what they love. She hosts practice pens for the community at her home and ranch in Raeford, North Carolina, where she lives with her husband, Nate. She brings her bulls to local rodeo associations and organizes women’s bull riding events all around North and South Carolina.
