Wendi McLendon-Covey stars as Mandy’s mom Alyssa, who is smart, perceptive and proud of her daughter, in “Prom Pact,” from Disney Branded Television, a heartfelt romantic comedy set during the emotion and excitement of high school Prom season.

Actor, comedian and producer, McLendon-Covey is a master of comedy. With perfect timing and an unforgettable presence both on stage and on camera, she has been captivating audiences her entire career. As fan-favorite matriarch Beverly Goldberg on “The Goldbergs,” New York Magazine’s Vulture called her The Greatest TV Mom of 2015 for her performance in the third season. For this role, she has been nominated for two Critics Choice Awards and is now a producer on the show.

Many know McLendon-Covey from her starring role in “Bridesmaids,” the 2011 groundbreaking female comedy. The ensemble cast garnered a SAG nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture and a Golden Globe® nomination for Best Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical. In addition, the film won an AFI Award in 2012 for Movie of the Year. There has not been a comedy film since with this incredible amount of critical acclaim.

McLendon-Covey can be seen in films such as Steve Harvey’s “Think Like A Man Too,” opposite Kevin Hart and Regina Hall, and before that, she starred in Tyler Perry’s “Single Mom’s Club,” with Terry Crews and Amy Smart. She also starred in Adam Sandler’s Happy Madison production “Blended,” opposite Sandler and Drew Barrymore.

McLendon-Covey is the lead actress in the independent film “BLUSH,” which debuted at the Sundance Film Festival in 2019 and was released worldwide in 2020. Additionally, she can be seen in movies “Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar” alongside Kristen Wiig and Jamie Dornan, “Sylvie’s Love” with Tessa Thompson, and “Sick Girl.” In 2021, McLendon-Covey was cast in the independent film “Paint” alongside Owen Wilson. It will be released in 2023.

True comedy fans will recognize McLendon-Covey from her five-year arc on “Reno 911,” a cult classic mockumentary about law enforcement. The reboot was released in 2020 and has earned an Emmy® nomination. Other television work includes “Lovespring International,” “Modern Family” and “Rules of Engagement.”

Wendi started at the world-famous Groundlings Theater in Los Angeles, where she excelled at both improv and sketch comedy. She currently resides in Los Angeles with her husband.
