Norton Virgien

Emmy® Award winner Norton Virgien is the co-executive producer and supervising director of Disney Junior’s hit animated series “Vampirina,” about a young vampire girl who faces the joys and trials of being the new kid in town when her family moves from Transylvania to Pennsylvania.

He is also co-executive producer of Disney Junior’s acclaimed animated series “Doc McStuffins,” which tells the story of a young girl who aspires to be a doctor like her mom and runs a clinic for stuffed animals and toys.

A veteran in the world of animation, Virgien received two Emmy Awards while working on the popular Nickelodeon series “Rugrats” and was awarded a third Emmy for his work on Discovery Kids’ “Tutenstein.” His additional television credits include “Henry Hugglemonster,” “Duckman” and “Santo Bugito.” His feature film credits include “The Rugrats Movie,” “Rugrats Go Wild,” “Rugrats in Paris,” “The Wild Thornberry’s Movie” and “Curious George 2.”

In 2010, Virgien began working with the award-winning Brown Bag Films, the company responsible for all of the animation on “Doc McStuffins”, “Henry Hugglemonster” and “Vampirina.”

Virgien holds a Bachelor of Arts in art and English from Bates College.
