Niamh Sharkey

Niamh Sharkey is creator, executive producer and supervising art director of Disney Branded Television’s “Eureka!,” an animated music-filled series about a talented young inventor living in the fantastical prehistoric world of Rocky Falls.

An award-winning children’s book author and illustrator and former Children’s Laureate of Ireland (2012-14), Sharkey is also the creator and executive producer of Disney Junior’s Emmy®-nominated animated series “Henry Hugglemonster,” which is based on her children’s storybook series “I’m a Happy Hugglewug.”

Sharkey’s other book titles include “The Ravenous Beast,” “Santasaurus” and “On the Road with Mavis and Marge,” which won the Irish Book Awards’ Junior Book of the Year. Her books have been translated into over 28 languages and have won numerous awards, including the prestigious Mother Goose Award and The Bisto Book of the Year. She has also directed episodes of “Henry Hugglemonster” and “Eureka!”

Sharkey currently lives in Dublin, Ireland, with her family and works with the award-winning Brown Bag Films.
