Melanie Paxson

Melanie Paxson stars as Fairy Godmother in the highly anticipated Disney Channel Original Movie sequel "Descendants 2." Fairy Godmother continues to act as headmistress of Auradon Prep and presides over her pupils' studies. Paxson is best known for her roles in the Oscar®-nominated drama "Saving Mr. Banks" and the comedy "The Outfield." She has also starred in TV series and movies such as "Notes from the Underbelly," "Happy Family," "Cupid" and "Behind the Camera: The Unauthorized Story of 'Three's Company.'" Other credits include guest appearances on "Bones," "Last Man Standing," "CSI" and "The Drew Carey Show." Originally born in Chicago, Illinois, Paxson currently resides in Los Angeles, California, with her husband and their son.
