Josh Hall: The Crossover

Jalyn Hall stars as Josh Hall in “The Crossover,” from Disney Branded Television, based on his best-selling, Newbery medal-winning middle-grade novel of the same name.

Rising star and 2023 Critics Choice Awards nominee for Best Young Actor/Actress, at only 16, Jalyn Hall has already developed a huge following and can currently be seen in a groundbreaking performance portraying civil rights icon Emmet Till in Orion Pictures/United Artists’ motion picture “Till.” The film is a biographical drama written and directed by Chinonye Chukwu and also stars Danielle Deadwyler and Whoopi Goldberg, who also produces the film. The film tells the real-life story of Mamie Till-Mobley (Deadwyler), an American educator and activist who pursues justice after the 1955 lynching of her 14-year-old son Emmett Till (Hall).

In addition to “Till,” Hall made his first appearance at the 2022 Toronto Film Festival (TIFF) to promote his starring role in the Onyx Collective for Hulu film “Bruiser.” In director Miles Warren’s searing feature debut about fathers, families and the effects of toxic masculinity, 14-year-old Darious (Hall) explores the boundaries of his manhood through tumultuous interactions with Malcolm, his strict but loving father, and Porter, a charismatic drifter. When Darious learns Porter’s true identity, he is thrust into a conflict between the two men that may rip his family apart and threaten his safety.

Also in 2023, Hall will portray yet another important Black American historical figure with his guest starring role as the young Martin Luther King Jr. in the forthcoming “GENIUS: MLK/X” series for Disney+/National Geographic.

Hall is best known as a current fan favorite on the uber-popular CW series “All American,” where he plays the series regular role of Dillon James.
