Damani Johnson is the executive producer and co-showrunner of “The Crossover,” from Disney Branded Television, based on his best-selling, Newbery medal-winning middle-grade novel of the same name.
Johnson is a writer and producer who’s written everything from blue-sky therapies like “Necessary Roughness” to crime procedurals like “Major Crimes.” Additionally, he spent several years saving a planet from an asteroid on “Salvation,” riding aboard a Federation Starship on “Picard,” navigating through a changing galaxy on “Star Wars: The Bad Batch,” gallivanting across the anime seas on “One Piece” and peeking inside a judge’s chambers on “All Rise.” He’s based in Los Angeles with his wife, four children and one bulldog.
