Bill Motz and Bob Roth

Creators / Executive Producers: The Ghost and Molly McGee

Emmy Award® winners Bill Motz and Bob Roth are creators and executive producers of Disney Channel’s animated buddy-comedy “The Ghost and Molly McGee.” The long-time writing and producing duo inspired the personalities of the two main characters: Bill is a self-professed optimist like Molly and Bob is a self-professed grump like Scratch.

Motz and Roth are best known for executive producing “LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures,” “Brandy & Mr. Whiskers” and “Disney’s the Legend of Tarzan.” Their additional credits include Disney’s “Kim Possible,” “Aladdin,” “Quack Pack,” “Hercules,” “Buzz Lightyear of Star Command” and “The Penguins of Madagascar,” for which they received an Emmy Award in the Outstanding Writing in the Animation category.

The pair met while at a summer production workshop at the University of Southern California and bonded over their mutual love of “Star Wars.” Motz was born and raised in Rock Island, Illinois, and graduated from Wheaton College. Roth was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and raised in Ithaca, New York, where he attended Cornell University. They currently reside in Los Angeles.
