‘World News Tonight With David Muir’ Is #1 Newscast on All of Broadcast and Cable in Total Viewers, Adults 25–54 and Adults 18–49 Outdelivering NBC by 1.2 Million Viewers and CBS by Nearly 3 Million Viewers

“World News Tonight with David Muir” ranked as the No. 1 newscast on all of broadcast and cable in Total Viewers (7.233 million), Adults 25-54 (1.002 million) and Adults 18-49 (666,000) during the week of April 29, 2024, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. “World News Tonight” defeated “NBC Nightly News” (6.010 million, 826,000 and 531,000, respectively) by 1.223 million Total Viewers, by 176,000 Adults 25-54 and by 135,000 Adults 18-49, respectively.

“World News Tonight” has won the last 283 of 284 weeks in Total Viewers, including the last 127 weeks and 211 of the last 214 in Adults 25-54.

“World News Tonight” stood as the No. 2 program of the week in Total Viewers (7.233 million) on all of broadcast and cable (excluding sports).

Season to date, “World News Tonight” (7.938 million) is ranking No. 1 in Total Viewers for the 8th straight year, based on Most Current Data. “World News Tonight” is leading “NBC Nightly News” (6.676 million) by 1.262 million and “CBS Evening News” (4.823 million) by 3.115 million.

“World News Tonight” is ranking No. 1 in Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49 for the 5th consecutive season. “World News Tonight” is leading NBC in Adults 25-54 (+118,000 – 1.111 million vs. 993,000) and in Adults 18-49 (+94,000 – 759,000 vs. 685,000). In addition, “World News Tonight” is leading “CBS Evening News” (696,000 and 472,000, respectively) by 415,000 Adults 25-54 and by 287,000 Adults 18-49.

For the week, “World News Tonight” (7.233 million, 1.002 million and 666,000, respectively) beat “CBS Evening News” (4.246 million, 620,000 and 429,000, respectively) by 2.987 million Total Viewers, by 382,000 Adults 25-54 and by 237,000 Adults 18-49.

NOTE: On Monday (4/29/24), “World News Tonight” was retitled to “WNT-ABC.” The retitled telecasts are excluded from the weekly and season averages. ABC’s weekly averages are based on four days (Tuesday-Friday).
