“World News Tonight with David Muir” stood as the No. 1 program of the week in Total Viewers (6.997 million) on all of broadcast and cable (excluding sports) during the week of June 2, 2025, based on Live+Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research.

• “World News Tonight” ranked as the No. 1 newscast across broadcast and cable in Total Viewers (6.997 million), Adults 25-54 (907,000) and Adults 18-49 (597,000).
• “World News Tonight” ranked as the No. 1 telecast of the day on Monday (7.284 million), Tuesday (7.078 million), Wednesday (7.194 million) and Friday (6.432 million).
• “World News Tonight” outperformed “NBC Nightly News” (5.449 million, 771,000 and 524,000, respectively) by 1.548 million Total Viewers, by 136,000 Adults 25-54 and by 73,000 Adults 18-49.
• “World News Tonight” improved on the previous week in Adults 25-54 (+3%/+23,000 – 907,000 vs. 884,000) and Adults 18-49 (+1%/+5,000 – 597,000 vs. 592,000).
• “World News Tonight” widened its lead week to week over “NBC Nightly News” in Total Viewers (+17% – 1.548 million vs. 1.322 million), Adults 25-54 (+157% – 136,000 vs. 53,000) and Adults 18-49 (+9% – 73,000 vs. 67,000).  “World News Tonight” turned in its largest Total Viewer and Adults 25-54 lead over NBC in 4 weeks – since w/o 5/5/25).
• For the 13th consecutive week, “World News Tonight” increased its lead over “CBS Evening News” year to year in Total Viewers (+12% – 3.094 million vs. 2.773 million), Adults 25-54 (+15% – 389,000 vs. 339,000) and Adults 18-49 (+6% – 211,000 vs. 199,000).
• Season to date, “World News Tonight” (7.731 million) is ranking No. 1 in Total Viewers for the 9th consecutive year, based on Most Current Data. “World News Tonight” is leading “NBC Nightly News” (6.183 million) by 1.548 million and “CBS Evening News” (4.326 million) by 3.405 million. In fact, “World News Tonight” is growing its Total Viewer lead over NBC compared to the same point last season (+20% – 1.548 million vs. 1.293 million) to its largest in 30 years — since the 1994-1995 season. In addition, “World News Tonight” is increasing its Total Viewer season margin versus “CBS Evening News” by 10% (3.405 million vs. 3.095 million) to its largest in 4 years — since the 2020-2021 season.
• “World News Tonight” is ranking No. 1 in Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49 for the 6th straight season. Season to date, “World News Tonight” (1.085 million and 752,000, respectively) is leading NBC (907,000 and 600,000, respectively), increasing its margins from the same point last season in Adults 25-54 (+38% – 178,000 vs. 129,000) and Adults 18-49 (+52% – 152,000 vs. 100,000).
• In addition, “World News Tonight” is widening margins with “CBS Evening News” (619,000 and 420,000, respectively) by double digits in Adults 25-54 (+13% – 466,000 vs. 412,000) and Adults 18-49 (+18% – 332,000 vs. 281,000).

NOTE: On Thursday (6/5/25), “World News Tonight” was retitled to “WNT-ABC” due to ABC’s coverage of Game 1 of the NBA Finals. The retitled telecast is excluded from the weekly and season averages. ABC’s weekly averages are based on four days (Monday-Wednesday and Friday).
