ABC AUDIO AND ‘20/20’ ANNOUNCE NEW TRUE CRIME PODCAST ‘WHAT HAPPENED TO HOLLY BOBO?’ WILL PREMIERE ON TUESDAY, MAY 6

Today, ABC Audio and “20/20” announced the new true crime podcast “What Happened to Holly Bobo?,” hosted by “GMA3” co-anchor and senior national correspondent Eva Pilgrim, will premiere Tuesday, May 6. The six-episode series examines Holly’s case, which launched one of the largest and most expensive investigations in the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s history and includes new audio of Clint Bobo’s police interview from the day she went missing. Clint denied any involvement in the disappearance of his sister in the interview and has since been cleared by authorities in her kidnapping and murder. The podcast will also feature updates from the March 2025 court appearance of Zach Adams, who was convicted of kidnapping and murdering Holly and is currently appealing the verdict, and will provide listeners with real-time updates from his next appearance, tentatively set for May. The podcast chronicles the 2011 case of Holly Bobo, a young nursing student who disappeared from her home in rural Tennessee after she headed into the woods with a man. Three years later, ginseng foragers found her remains not far from where she went missing and approximately six miles from the home of Zach Adams. Now, years after Adams was found guilty of murdering Holly, his appellate attorney says a key witness, Jason Autry, is now claiming he lied on the stand. Even after multiple suspects have gone to prison in connection with her murder and authorities continue to stand by their convictions of Adams and the others, recent defense efforts have kept the case alive, leading the public to question: What happened to Holly Bobo?

“What Happened to Holly Bobo?” joins new series “20/20: The After Show,” “The Crime Scene Weekly” and “Bad Rap: The Case Against Diddy” as part of ABC Audio’s true crime all the time slate. The new programming has driven over 30% of ABC Audio downloads since the March 2025 launch, and ABC Audio is on track for the highest monthly download figures in over a year.
