‘This Week’ Ranks No. 1 in Adults 25-54, Leading CBS and NBC by Its Largest Margins in 10 Weeks

“This Week with George Stephanopoulos” ranked No. 1 in Adults 25-54 on Sunday, May 8, 2022, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research, leading CBS’ “Face the Nation” (+211,000) and NBC’s “Meet the Press” (+147,000), each by its largest margins in 10 weeks — since 2/27/22.    

 

In addition, “This Week” beat “Meet the Press” by its largest Total Viewer advantage (+278,000) in 11 weeks — since 2/20/22.

 

“This Week” posted gains from the previous week in Total Viewers (+3% – 2.493 million vs. 2.428 million) and Adults 25-54 (+19% – 654,000 vs. 549,000) for the 2nd week in a row, hitting a 7-week high in the key Adult news demo — since 3/20/22.

 

“This Week” grew from the same Sunday last year in Adults 25-54 (+28% – 654,000 vs. 510,000), standing as the only public affairs program to improve year to year.

 

Season to date, “This Week” is ranking No. 1 in Adults 25-54, leading CBS’ “Face the Nation” and NBC’s “Meet the Press” for the first time in 28 years — since the 1993-94 season.  In addition, “This Week” is delivering its largest news demo lead over the CBS’ “Face the Nation” in 22 years — since the 1999-2000 season.

 

“This Week” is leading NBC’s “Meet the Press” in Total Viewers season to date for the first time in 7 years and by its largest lead in 25 years — since the 2014-2015 and the 1996-1997 seasons, respectively. In addition, “This Week” is cutting its season margin with “Face the Nation” by 14% (284,000 vs. 330,000) to its smallest gap in 12 years — since the 2009-2010 season.

 

George Stephanopoulos is anchor, Martha Raddatz is chief global affairs correspondent and co-anchor, and Jonathan Karl is chief Washington correspondent and co-anchor of “This Week.” Dax Tejera is executive producer of the broadcast.
