Year to Year, ‘The View’ Sees Double-Digit Increases Across the Board

 

Season to Date, ‘The View’ Is Up in Total Viewers and Women 25-54, Delivering Its Most-Watched Season in 7 Years

For the week of Jan. 4, 2021, the most recent week including syndication, ABC’s “The View” ranked No. 1 in Households and Total Viewers (2.4 rtg and 3.316 million, respectively), taking the top spot in all 16 weeks of original telecasts this season in Households and 15 of 16 weeks in Total Viewers. For the week, “The View” led “Live with Kelly and Ryan” (2.0 rtg and 2.795 million, respectively), NBC’s “Today Third Hour” (1.7 rtg and 2.462 million, respectively) and “Dr. Phil” (1.8 rtg and 2.443 million, respectively), among the daytime network and syndicated talk shows and news programs. In fact, season to date, “The View” ranks No. 1 in Households and Total Viewers (2.2 rtg and 2.998 million) for the first time in its 24-year history at this point in the season.

 

“The View” averaged 3.186 million Total Viewers, 413,000 Women 25-54 and 296,000 Women 18-49 during the week of Jan. 11, 2021, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. 

 

“The View” posted double-digit increases year to year in Total Viewers (+25% – 3.186 million vs. 2.554 million), Women 25-54 (+19% – 413,000 vs. 346,000) and Women 18-49 (+17% – 296,000 vs. 254,000). 

 

Season to date, “The View” is up compared to the same point last season in Total Viewers (+15% – 2.998 million vs. 2.599 million) and Women 25-54 (+1% – 400,000 vs. 395,000), delivering its most-watched season in 7 years—since the 2013-2014 season. 

 

NOTE: On Wednesday (1/13/21), “The View” was coded as a breakout due to an ABC special report on the House Impeachment Hearings. The telecast is excluded from the weekly and season averages. “The View”’s weekly averages are based on four days (Monday-Tuesday and Thursday-Friday).
